Scale Dogs
Scale Dogs provides guide dogs free of charge to visually impaired people, with the aim of improving their mobility, safety and independence.
Support Scale Dogs
Scale Dogs' main activity is training guide dogs for visually impaired people. Guide dogs smoothly lead their visually impaired or blind owners through traffic, avoid obstacles and refuse commands if they pose a danger to their owners. Guide dogs facilitate social contact. No other mobility technique provides as much independence and freedom as a guide dog.
For dogs that are not suitable to become guide dogs, Scale Dogs always tries to find them an alternative career, such as an autism dog, an institution dog or a buddy dog. Journeys are faster with a guide dog than with a white cane, so travelling requires less energy.
Key figures
In its 35 years of existence, more than 140 dogs have been placed free of charge with visually impaired or blind beneficiaries.
